Just like to say how nice friendly and easy and trouble some it was to get a single entry Thai visa In Hong Kong

One of the best consulates i been to very helpful staff and friendly.

I was concerned as previous I have a Triple entry when I entered 2 years ago, then followed by a double form Laos Vientiane, followed by 2 more double entries from savannakhet Laos, Then a single from Penang malaysia which they question me about. and now a single from Hong Kong.

No silly questions about what you doing or finance.

Is that a typo, or was there really a problem?

No flight ticket?

No hotel booking?

That's news indeed.

BTW there are about 50 different types of visa, it would not cramp your style to say in your post title it was for a TOURIST visa.which I guess it is.

Read my post it clearly says single entry.

if it was anything other than a single entry tourist visa it wouldn't be so simple as other types of visa require marriage certificates financial papers and other paperwork depending on type.

so just for the record for those who do not know requirements for the different types of visas.

yes a single entry tourist visa.

Yes thats the problem, you need to read the actual topic to know what visa your on about.

anyway......

So you confirm HK does not require plane ticket or hotel booking?

Thats odd as I recall another HK report with a very long list of requirement.

Well they didn't ask me for no bank statement but had one incase they did.

They didn't want my stamps or visa previous photocopied.

And they didn't ask to see my return flight ticket.

Although i had already filled the flight number in on the permit ticket.

just my experience.

Always down to to discrepancies of the officers on duty.

Age and appearance and attitude contributes a long way.

Always useful to know your nationality, since that can affect consular attitudes.

My Nationality is British.

and like I said best experience I ever had at a consulate for obtaining a Single entry Tourist visa.

Things have changed.  AS of yesterday I was asked a bunch of questions because I had 3x single entry visas (one from Vientaine,  one from Hong Kong, and one from Seoul).  Ended the conversation with   "Okay we will give you a visa this time, but next time go to your home country where they can accept more documents."  (referencing the METV)

They don't care about any documents except your passport copy,  photo and copy of your HK arrival slip.
