I am going on a visa run to Viteinane on the 10th and then Vang Vieng for 4 nights

I have a overnight bus from pattaya to Nong Khai, but they would only sell me a one way ticket

So my plan is as soon as I get of the bus on the 11th in the morning buy a ticket for the 16th back

I don't have any more buses booked also from Vientiane to Vang Vieng and back from Vang Vieng to Nong Kai

I know how to do the journey but have no Ideal what travelling will be like on the 12th from Vientiane to Vang Vieng and on the 16th from Vang Vieng to Nong khai

Will the bus station office in Nong Kai be open in the morning for me to but a ticket back?

also will it be to late on the 11th to buy a ticket for the 16th? Because of Songkran

Dose anyone know what travel in loas is like during Songkran?
