I recently switched from True to Sophon. True was regularly interupted due to rain but now the same thing has happened with Sophon (message on TV saying service interupted due to rain). How is this possible?

They receive there signals from Satellites so the cloud mass could interrupt communications for a while

Heavy cloud or more likely heavy rain will cause rain fade.

I have TMN, and my picture goes out a good 20 minutes before the rain arrives.

The cable channels get a lot of their programs from Satellite so thats not really the answer.

And depending where one lives that cable service will be brought to you via satellite.

There is no solution to rain fade or sun outages,or power cuts or flooding or crap customer service or many other things for that matter.

It is as someone else said all part of living in this wonderful paradise.

It is definitively something I can live with, I was just surprised that when swithcing from sat dish tv to cable I encounterede the same problems.

But as someone pointed out Sophon get some of their channels via satellite.
