What school of Japanese karate is being practiced?

It is Wado Ryu. We are a branch dojo of Japan Karate Federation Wado Kai. Look at the web site in the links and there should be a lot of information. If not, just ask and I will try to get the answers for you.

Folks here too old for karate. Elders fear falling, breaking hip bones, etc. Seek elsewhere.

There is no upper age limit to practice karate or many other martial arts.

Some advantages of karate and other martial arts are: improving balance and spatial awareness; learning how to fall even in unintentional falls.

Of course martial arts are not for every person. Martial arts are a good way of exercising if done correctly. Most martial arts classes take a person's age and abilities into account in their training sessions.

In addition to no upper age limit to practice, because of recent changes to the regulations of Thailand Karate Federation, under the Sports Authority of Thailand, has approved our membership in their Federation. This gives the opportunity for younger people to participate in Thailand Karate Federation sanctioned tournaments in Thailand.

We also can participate in some karate tournaments in Japan and the USA should a member want to do that.

If someone has children or know of younger people that may be interested you can pass the word on to them to come and look at our classes.
