Bangkok Airways promoting Thai cuisine

BANGKOK, 4 April 2016 (NNT) – Bangkok Airways now offers a wide selection of Thai famous and delicious dishes to its passengers, a move to promote Thai traditional cuisine.

Mom Luang Sirichalerm Svastivadhana, advisor to Bangkok Airways, said the idea to serve Thai traditional food to passengers is in compliance with the government’s policy to boost the hospitality industry as well as promote famous dishes and fruits from the 4 regions of Thailand.

He said all cooking ingredients used in the kitchen have been certified by the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (NACCP), the ISO 9001:2000, and the Halal Mark.

Different foods will be served in different periods, he said, for instance, northern and northeastern dishes will be offered to passengers in the first two quarters of the year while southern and central dishes will be served in the last two quarters of 2016.

In addition, Mom Luang Sirichalerm said special dishes will be served on special occasions such as Songkran, Christmas, and New Year.

Sorry, you are not correct. Food is prepared daily, not frozen. And food that is made in an Airline kitchen is safer then Thai street food,

that I believe you have eaten before.

No question about it. Bangkok Airways in-flight catering beats TG's hands down. At least to my taste, the food in the Bangkok Airways domestic economy lounge is better than in TG's international business class lounges. As for TG's in-flight food - for example, I can get much tastier pad krapow in a box for 30 baht at a roadside stand than the oily mess that they serve in TG business class.

I also heard recently that Bangkok Airways do the catering for Emirates out of BKK, including the excellent food that they serve in their business class lounge here.

Great idea! but i think it will still be a variation of "Will you have the Chicken or the Fish?"

I agree. As long as they don't do satay for the peanut problems some have. I have always been quite happy with the food in cattle class on Thai international. Airline food in budget class is not intended to be an elite gastronomical adventure but Thai always do well by my experiences and I fly on different routes with other airlines. Thai was all booked for my big OE this year & I could not get a seat. Had 4 flights on Malaysian instead of two on Thai and the food was from barely edible (one BKK-KL segment) to just OK on the longer international legs, but way below any Thai International meal I have had in 15 or more years. One really good attendant on that BKK-KL apart from that service was poor to abysmal Cattle class service. Honestly I have always found Thai International good food & with helpful, hard working cabin crew, and I always fly cattle class. Other airlines may do better but Gee, I have never found it so. I have never had the bad experiences some complain so loudly about on Thai.
