PATTAYA:-- A wheelchair bound German man made a shocking discovery Monday morning when he went searching for his wife to get her to come to bed, reports Thaivisa News.

His wife of four years was found hanging from a clothes rail in the bathroom of their house in Pattaya.

Police suspect no foul play in the death of 39 year old In Gephart, found dead in the early hours of the morning.

Frank Gephart, 61, relied on his wife as a carer. He was concerned in the night when his wife, a native of Buriram province, had not come to bed. After calling out and getting no response he got into his wheelchair and made a search of the house in Soi 16/2 Na Klua.

He found her fully clothed body dangling from a makeshift noose fashioned from a bag strap and after managing to cut her down called medics but his wife was already dead.

Mr Gephart said he had known his wife for four years and had registered their marriage. She had two children from a previous relationship. "She was my carer," he told police."there was no indication at all that she was going to do this."

Police suspect that the woman had been ad for some 2-3 hours when she was found. The body was sent for detailed autopsy. A phone lying near the body was taken into evidence and officers investigating hope it may provide some clue as to the apparent suicide.

Police asked friends of the German to watch him closely after he said that he was going to kill himself too in the wake of his wife's tragic death.

Poor man wheelchair bound and his wife (carer) does that.

He will have serious problems now without her.

Hope he doesnt think about doing the same.

She was a mother so something seriously wrong to make her commit suicide.

Sad indeed - LOS Land Of Suicides

Sad, indeed, that you should think that remark appropriate, or even accurate.

No, you're right, it really isn't, the US has a higher rate, as does France and about 50 odd other countries, there is too much suicide here as there is everywhere but to be taken by tabloid news is just sad, Thailand is pretty normal in this respect.
