BANGKOK:-- Arrest warrants have been issued for two men in connection with the 'body in the bag' drugs case that has enthralled Bangkok this week.

Tadin Wangchuk, 29, and Manoch Kumar Daga, 38, believed to be Bhutanese nationals, are wanted in connection with the death of a countryman found floating in a bag in the Ong Ang canal in Phra Nakorn district earlier this week, reports Daily News.

The suspects, believed to be part of a gang of seven who were staying at a Wang Burapha hotel with the purpose of exporting amphetamines abroad, were identified from CCTV.

The dead man is believed to have ingested the drugs in dozens of condoms in the unnamed hotel room but one burst and killed him. Spooked gang members then bought a bag, stuffed him in and tossed him nearby in the canal.

The gang are believed to have fled Thailand. Acting police chief Sanit Mahathaworn said earlier that the case is "90% resolved" but conceded the difficulty in bringing the gang members to justice if they have indeed left the country.
