burgerking Posted April 9, 2016 Share Posted April 9, 2016 When filling out the transfer papers it will ask you how much you paid for the car. That's where they calculate the transfer tax. Apiwan2 Posted April 21, 2016 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Don't like to high jack a thread but it's kinda revelant. Firstly I have just found out there is a transfer tax on 2nd hand cars. Like the OP I want to transfer a car into my name mitsu valued it at 500K so I'll pay 2,500 baht I believe. I have a non O visa and my name is in the Tabian Baan as father of my kids ( not named as a Thai would be ). Do I need to get a Yellow book or a resident letter from MFA to put in my name .
