sorry for not starting out my question with "My partner and I".....but, as difficult as it may be to see through the bottle bottoms of a TV regular, prostitution was not mentioned.

Load of nonsense, there is plenty to do in Lad Phrao, unless you are only interested in ree light areas.

So- why not post your suggestions of where the OP can go within the vicinity of the Lad Prao MRT station?

Well if he wants farang style, head to Central, if he wants Thai style head in the direction of Bang Kapi.

That whole road rawks, Thai style bars, live concerts, nightclubs etc etc.

Or he can head to Ratchada.

Would certainly agree that there is plenty to do in Lat Phrao area, all the way frkm Bang Kapi up to Jatujak.

Its just not anything like the hooker zones in Sukhumvit, thankfully.

An accurate analysis, but not even a 200b a beer kind of place, because I don't think many working class ladies would be there, either. I tried to originally phrase it so I didn't offend anyone, but what I've noticed on TV is that when you don't teach to the bottom of the class and spell everything out in way too much detail; some will misinterpret, jump to idiotic conclusions, and make sanctimonious accusations. I don't want to go to a hi-so place as mentioned, I think Sukhumvit sucks nowadays (was good 20 years ago, or even 10 years ago), and I really don't see the point in paying 3x for imports, so that rules out a lot of the pretentious places the farang like to be seen at. That's why I said Tiger/Singha would be fine. It appears that 90% of respondents knew exactly what I meant, and made some great suggestions.

Driving past I noticed an irish bar at the new sanaam lum night bizarre also. This is 1 station away at MRT ratchadapisek. I havent been there yet though so cant comment.

Is the night market collection of bars in keeping with cheap food and drink of Bangkok or is it a bit higher due to it being well known now?

that isn't bad, but I've been doing 4 for 200 large Tigers in Chiang Mai. Just saw a 5 for 200 (large) on Singha Lights, which is a little better than Chang, but still pretty nasty.

My city which I avoid unless it's for the annual pilgrimage, has ridiculous closing times of 1am some places, forget all nighters and a good English breakfast at the Flying Pan.
