NRSA's sports committee to propose setting up national sports universities, in May

BANGKOK, 26 April 2016 (NNT) - A National Reform Steering Assembly committee is planning to officially propose the creation of national sports universities. The suggestion will be made to the assembly’s main meeting in May.

Spokesman of the NRSA’s committee on sports, arts, culture, religion, ethics and morality, Gen. Jira Komutpong chaired a news conference on Monday on the progress of the committee’s work following its recent meeting with representatives of both the public and private sectors across the country to discuss the setting up of 17 national sports universities.

The committee’s plan would mean the integration of 17 existing institutes of physical education throughout Thailand, to create a sports university in each region.

Gen. Jira said that the committee has found all parties it has met support the idea.

Therefore, the committee is planning to present all ideas and information it has gathered to the main NRSA meeting on May 16 for further consideration.

Considering that a conventional university degree now qualifies a graduate to work in 7 eleven, what will the a degree from a national sports university qualify its graduates to do? Work in a athletic shoe store?

This will mean there will be budgets to be "managed"!

The NRSA focus is 1,000 miles wide and one inch deep.

Was the situation with sports in Thailand in May 2014 so dire that the meaning of "reform" included sports?

The reform of the police has been kicked down the road.

The reform of education is to reduce it and emphasize moral teachings.

The reform of road safety is a patchwork of "crackdowns".

The reform of government official corruption is lists and transfers.

There is no reform of the military, because....they are perfect.

So, let's set up 17 "sports universities", for no specified reason.

Scorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre!

They might as well teach sports as the education part in the universities isn't working.
