BMA holds seminar to improve building security systems

BANGKOK, 26 April 2016 (NNT) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has sought to bolster understanding on building safety systems with an aim to reduce accidents caused by automatic safety measures.

Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribata has opened a seminar on understanding building security systems and measures being attended by commercial building owners and department store operators. The session was organized by the Bangkok Disaster Prevention and Mitigation office.

The seminar was called in response to the large amount of citizens that live in Bangkok, which necessitate careful security management, and aims to encourage public participation in ensuring their own safety.

A focus of the seminar was automatic security systems and how a lack of understanding for such systems can lead to misuse and accidents that can result in loss of life or property damage. Caretakers of such systems were urged to thoroughly understand their tasks to avoid mishaps.

Hard to argue their well meaning intentions and endevours to save lives and property. What Thai gabfests such as these achieve is highly questionable. Nonetheless I expect everyone had a nice lunch.

Have a good look around department stores and office buildings, in many places you will see that the stairs (escape stairs in an emergency) are 80% blocked with boxes etc.

Happy to see that improving building security...had nothing to do with covert intelligence snooping...
