The roadshow was aimed at discussing policies and trade-related issues and increasing cooperation on to drive the regional MICE market, organizers said.

Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau vice-president for strategic and business development Supawan Teerarat said the roadshow created a central platform for entrepreneurs, government officials and executives from Thailand and Cambodia who are involved in the MICE segment. “I am confident that the roadshow will help the MICE industry in Thailand, Cambodia, and also in the region to grow together,” Ms. Supawan said. “This will be the beginning of a cooperative effort to drive the MICE industry in Thailand and Cambodia and establish an efficient platform that will be extended on the basis of bilateral cooperation.”

Thailand’s MICE industry is one of the country’s major tourism segments, accounting for almost 10 percent of revenue and about 0.6 percent of GDP, participants at the roadshow were told.
