High blood sugars can damage the Vegas nerve. Go to Dr. Richard Bernstein's web seminars. He has a lot to say about how to recover.  1st control blood sugars, next drink low carb smoothies and walk. Do not eat anything that can block the opening. Cucumber water is good. Whey protein is good. Test. 8x day or more. Do not go hypo. Buy a slow cheap treadmill and walk indoors with the air on on.
