As always, the rains will come and bring flooding after a drought.

And all of that flood water will head down the river to the gulf where it will become useless.

It is way past time Thailand built reservoirs to reclaim and retain all of that flood water for use in the dry season.

There is a lot of pretty useless farm land that could be converted to lakes to not only retain water for agriculture, but create recreation areas and higher valued land around the lakes.

It's not rocket surgery or brain science!

But it might just annoy those people who own and live off that useless .farmland. Recreation opportunities and neighbouring land values won't feed their families!

Maybe, just maybe, the land will be purchased from the current owners for a good price and they can develope other farm land they own and do well, especially if there is water available from the project to irrigate their farms.

Being Thailand, most likely, government people in the know will buy the land cheap from the current owners before the public knows about any future development and then they will later sell it to the development agencies for a huge profit.

Huge amounts of money will change hands under the table and the wealthy will get wealthier, but what matters is the people of Thailand will have water in the dry season and control of flooding in the rainy season.
