Although some monkeys are less aggressive than others, and as the post above states, Langurs are in that category, I would avoid all monkeys - especially for children.

By all means go and watch a monkey show - but make sure they cannot attack by staying a safe distance away - never get close and always be careful.

But never go where monkeys freely move around and can sneak up on you/children - shows only (ones well run and monkeys secured).

This video below shows how even a well trained monkey can 'lose it' for no apparent reason - and they are fast - very fast.

Imagine a wild un-vaccinated monkey who is sick, attacks and bites you/child - how far to nearest hospital - what diseases/bugs are no in your/child's blood??

And as this woman found out, it often has nothoing to do with you - other idiots had teased the monkey before she arrived:

And here is a local Thai idiot getting into a fight with a monkey (yep). Note how he knows not to directly confront the monkey, and throws a shoe rather than get close. Then watch the response from the monkey. And who won? - the monkey of course - way too fast for any man.

And lastly this is from a man that breeds monkeys (in USA) - he knows what they can do to a human being.

My last point is to say that they test new cures of diseases in humans on monkeys for a reason. Monkeys are able to acquire (and transmit) most human diseases.
