I LIKETV

Featured Replies

I tried to load a package from ILike tv directly on to my smart tv. I could not do it, I am thinking I have to have an IPTV box to do this. Is this correct?

or ILikeHD?

I had problems using www.ilikehdtv.tv and ended up contacting ILikeHD directly and they said www.ilikehdtv.tv was a reseller and not all transactions could be done via that site. I forget what exactly I was trying to do at the time, but switching to the link in the first line of this post eliminated all problems I was having.

Sorry "wpcoe"...

...you are correct with your link (I should know better, being a customer of theirs)

DO YOU NEED A BOX TO DOWNLOAD A PACKAGE ON TO A SMART TV?

Most SmartTV's have a locked up "app store" ecosystem - so if the streaming vendor you want to use isn't supported by your TV manufacturer, you're going to need a separate media box.

In the case of iLikeHD+ they have only an Android app. They have no apps that I know of that will run directly on any smart TV, and no app even for Apple devices. If you want to watch their service via their app, you'll need an Android box. You could perhaps watch it via the web browser built into your TV, but navigation using a mouse cursor and a remote control will be a chore.

Many thanks for that

iLikeHD have Apps for PC, Smart phone/Tablet and Smart/Large TV.

So, with a Smart TV there is no need for an Android box, you use the iLikeHD Smart/Large TV App.

It works well on our Samsung Smart TV.

Are you sure you found an ilikehd app for your Samsung, and not that you're just using your TV's web browser?

You are correct, i am using my TV's browser, but I have a choice of which application, from iLikeHD I use, the classic PC, the Smart phone or the Large TV.

I suppose I haven't actually downloaded an App as I have done with my Android box.

As we deduced a while ago, there are a limited number of TV's that actually run an Android that allows you to install Apps.

Your best bet is an Android box.

Even the Amazon Fire TV and stick has limits to what you can install - i.e. You can sideload many things but they won't all install.

Thought I'd try the ILIKEHD app before signing up as many of these services are complete crap.  I have an Android STB and thus far, the experience with the app is worse than that!!  Is it even supposed to work on an STB?

When I look at the interface on a browser it will show you all the FTV Thai Channels.  I downloaded the app from the app store thinking it might be the same.  But no.  I get a banner across the middle of the screen with the various icons but when I click the channels icon it loads A SINGLE channel. 33 in this case.  No display of channels at all.  So, are you supposed to search for channels one at a time on the Android app?  If so that will be not be a process I'm prepared to go through.  Looking for ease of use here.  Not wading uphill through treacle!  Only way I can see I might get any kind of decent experience would be using the browser and selecting the TV display option.  But that will require logging in every time and fails again on the ease of use option.  No way!!

It also seems to be a SUPER clunky experience when using the back button to come out of a channel.  Instead of just going back seamlessly to the previous screen and back to the home screen, each and every change is separated by one or even two black TV screens with a 'No signal' banner.

In all honesty probably the worst user experience I've had with an Android STB channel streaming app.  Hopefully there's something I'm doing wrong and it's not designed to be like this.  If it is, I won't be bothering with iLikeHDTV.
