Take an extremely ambitious young Thai woman. What would be her ultimate goal? Which country would she most want her husband/benefactor to come from?

Top I would guess is the USA. Thought getting into that country is very difficult these days.

Then probably Australia? With it's good standard of living and kind climate.

Then maybe Canada. Not as good as the US but not far off.

After this perhaps North European - UK, Germany, Holland (if she's heard of it), Scandanavia.

Less attractive would probably be Southern Europeans - the darker skin not quite as desirable as the Aryan types.

An exteremely ambiltious young Thai women wouldnt need a farang or thai man and would sort themselves out...but if it had to be a farang, it would be a young good looking and rich farang guy, and one suspects the young Thai women shacking up with an old farang has had to compromise on their ambitions

I would say more important than location is polite, caring, well dressed, loads of cash, can speak thai, understand the culture, family like you. I would not say USA. Its the person and his dosh.

Maybe she'd like someone she was attracted to, and who she shared interests and cultural values with?

Of course not.. Thais are totally different not human...

Just look at topics like.. are Thai capable of love blink.png

Nah, a monthly stipend of no less than 10,000 baht trumps all that soft, mushy rubbish

I particularly like the use of the phrase 'extremely ambitious'. As if the ultimate achievement a young woman might dream of is a share in some foreigner's pension.

America of course, because we all know Americans are so much better than anybody else, we hear it (as does everyone else in the restaurant) daily !
