Teams of engineers sent to public hospitals to ensure safety and efficiency in face of thunderstorms

BANGKOK, 9 May 2016 (NNT) – Deputy Health Service Support Department director general Thongchai Keeratihatthayakorn said this summer's thunderstorms are likely to be worse than last summer, given enormous damage they have caused to houses, hospitals and other buildings.

The department has prepared emergency plans with 30 teams of engineers dispatched to provide help at public hospitals in all 77 provinces throughout the country. They will work in support of the hospitals under care of the Ministry of Public Health around the clock to ensure safety and efficiency of medical treatments.

Is that the same as the article before Songkran whereby teams of police, soldiers and others were deployed all

over the country to insure " safe holiday " for the public? we all know who those 'teams' fared.....

Were there no building regulations enforced BEFORE the hospitals opened for business, such as lightning rods etc?

555. Hub of regulations, yes! Enforcement of regulations, no! The rod's budget ended up in the director's Mia noi flat. ???

More likely they sent Technicians rather than engineers. Unfortunately the term "Engineer" is used for anyone who can identify a screwdriver in many parts of the world including Thailand
