Interior Ministry personnel to attend orientation course on public referendum

BANGKOK, 10 May 2016 (NNT) – All units under the Ministry of Interior have been instructed to cooperate with the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) and the Election Commission (EC) by sending personnel to an orientation program for the conducting of a public referendum.

Interior Ministry permanent secretary Krissada Boonyarat said the ministry's officials are yet to inquire the CDC and EC as to what is allowed and what is not allowed for the people to do about the nationwide referendum on a draft constitution, scheduled for August 7, 2016.

He believed that each province has now prepared its personnel to attend the orientation course so that they will give explanations about the issue to the people nationwide.

Agenda:

Topic 1: instruct the people to vote "yes"

Topic 2: dismissed.

Does anyone actually think that this will be allowed to fail anyway ?

I hope this passes. Thailand is not ready to accept the corrupt politicians back in full control! The general needs another

5 years to clean up Thailand's Corruption, which includes teaching Thai's not to sell their Votes.

Sounds like it's not just about training staff in running a referendum.

Sounds like training Attitude Adjusters to be sent into the field (paddy?) to give subjective information in the provinces in the lead up.

Country folk are not that easily misled..

...unless they have flagons of rice whisky to hand out. Sadly.

And to think some people regard sarcasm as the lowest form of wit!

Oh for god's sake, do you really think that they vote for the party who gives them the money or are you just a wum?

They take the money, say "Thank you very much", then vote for their party of choice.

Did they miss EC's 6 Do's and 8 Don'ts?

Also Prayut, Wissanu, Prawit and Meechai have pontificated on what isn't allowed.

If the Minister of Interior doesn't know what's allowed, what about asking the PM - his boss? There would be no loss of face in doing so as it's already public that he doesn't have a clue.
