ld.jpg

PATTAYA: -- At 11am on the morning of 9th May an accident was reported to the Banglamung Police Station involving a man who had been crushed by a lorry trailer at the worker camp of the Pattaya Chaitip Partnership in Banglamung, Chonburi.

Volunteers of the Sawangboriboom Rescue Services rushed to the scene but found sixty-three year old Thongrin Prajongsam lying beside his truck with fatal head injuries.

Witnesses reported that the victim had been washing his truck and had raised the tail section in order to clean underneath. Without warning the open-box bed section slammed down upon him after an apparent hydraulic failure.

A hydraulic failure? they must have fixed for the photo op then......the box is up?

By failure they probably mean "leak". I imagine that they just started the motor again to get up pressure to raise the unit in order to extract the driver.

Drivers and operators who dont blindly trust in luck would probably want to invest in a couple of these:

don't know about here, but dump trucks back home have lock bars that can be swung down to guard the bed from coming down on someone, people are still killed as many don't take the time to swing the bars down.
