May 10, 201610 yr Hi. Can anyone please tell me the location of Villa Market in Udon. All I can find out on the local forum is that it might have been moving. I am not from Udon and about the only thing I know is the airport. Coming from Khon Kaen so some precise directions please.
May 10, 201610 yr It used to be (6 months ago when I last went there) in a horrible location on the lowest level of the Tukcom Shopping Center. Google Maps says it has moved to UD Town. Let's see what the locals say. In the meantime, try Tops in the basement of Central Plaza.
May 10, 201610 yr Author Yes. Tops is not too bad but have a habit of running out and not re stocking for ages. I have to pick my Wife up from Udon airport on Friday so thought I would take a look.
May 10, 201610 yr still in Landmark, another location is being built in UD Town, but months away from opening, as far as restocking goes, from my experience they all run out and them take months to restock, seems a Thai thing? NO FORWARD PLANNING and No computerised stock control.
May 10, 201610 yr Still in Landmark basement. Hope that all storm damages (power supply) have been fully repaired. A mate was there on Friday when the storm came in and the lights went off. They have a generator at Landmark. Edited May 10, 201610 yr by KhunBENQ
May 13, 201610 yr Author Found it. Parking a bit of a squeeze. Not too impressed with the stock. The only other one I have been to was in Phuket Plus it was after 2pm so could not even buy some of the decent beer they had.
May 13, 201610 yr Not the best parking lot is it! no what you mean about the stock, in the past (very recent) we have never had a problem buying alcohol at any time from Villa.

Better sticking to Tops, if Villa is anything like the ones in Bangkok, give it a miss, it is far too expensive.
June 13, 201610 yr On the rare occasions that I am in Udon I give Villa a visit for just one (or two) products All else Big C and Central. Villa is expensive as it is in Pattaya or Bangkok. But they have some unique products (original imports) not found elsewhere. Fortunately my life does not depend on, so mostly use the easier drive to Khon Kaen.

God I wish there were a Villa in KKC. Tops in central KKC seems to have gotten a new manager or owner/operator. And with new managers changes come. More and more of the items disappear and never restocked. The price level is absolutely ridicules. Bought a Kg with grapes the other day. Seedless. Didn't realize it was almost 500 baht, before too late. Silly me. Unfortunately, it is the best option in KKC.
June 13, 201610 yr Found it. Parking a bit of a squeeze. Not the best parking lot is it! Some drive BIG cars? Pick ups? No problem there with my Gf's Nissan March, lol
June 14, 201610 yr Found it. Parking a bit of a squeeze. Not the best parking lot is it! Some drive BIG cars? Pick ups? No problem there with my Gf's Nissan March, lol Agree. No idea what's wrong with this parking deck. Newly built, wide lanes and well illuminated/ventilated. Are we writing about the same place? If you want to see the low end then use the parking deck at the old Fairy Plaza in Khon Kaen. Terrible. I would not use it if I'd drive a truck. And also the old Big C parking in Udon is dark and moldy. Edited June 14, 201610 yr by KhunBENQ
June 14, 201610 yr Author Only ever been to Villa Market in Phuket before. Found the one in Udon very disappointing after that. The freezer stock was very low. Did manage to find lime cordial though. In Tops KK lucky to find expensive import about twice a year. I think in Tops that you have to buy the whole stock if you see anything as it will not be there again for a few months.

Big C Udon dark, yes, but has space for turning your BIG Truck in and out. Greeting to you old friend, from Ex -Alfred- banned for LIFETIME, in the German TIP Forum

If you live deep in the Isaan Pampa, you have to take what you get, all alternatives are far! Try to get since some time, Lingonberry Jam (Preiselbeeren) we like to eat in my home country with venison, game-meat and Schnitzel ect. Read now, can possibly get it at the IKEA shop in Bangkok, - maybe I look there next time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lingonberry_jam Edited June 14, 201610 yr by ALFREDO
