Sure! We can help you move house - literally!

Social media is abuzz with a clip that shows everyone in a Thai village helping to move house. Or rather move 'A' house!

The clip shows more than 100 villagers moving an entire house on their collective shoulders without the aid of any machinery reported Sanook.

When the order is given to lift, they all raise the large two storey house on their backs in unison and move it to another part of the village.

Online posters praised the spirit of togetherness of the village, that was not named, though some questioned whether it might be rather dangerous.

The clip was posted on Soon Ruam Clip Det (centre for great clips) and is credited to the Facebook page of Rattanakamnerd Wongwarangkoon.

Why, Oh Why, is there always some dingbat saying, oh, it maybe dangerous, oh, it looks dangerous.

But! IT WAS NOT! YES ?..They moved it with no trouble at all....I have seen the same action in the village I live in....

Do you negative speakers have nothing else to bitch about in your life? No doubt all of you go out in a car or on a motorbike YES?

I suppose you never say it is dangerous when in fact, it is far, far more dangerous then moving the village house....

In other words, why have a bitch when you could have praised the villagers for the fantastic effort put into this movement....clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

Do you feel better now!

The first time I saw Thai villagers do this many years a go I thought.......

Wow......... that's so clever!!!! thumbsup.gif

wonderful! Exactly the type of thing I like about this place. Nothing like community spirit. I bet they threw a BBQ and Party after it was all over.

hehe I wonder if the History Channel will run it on an episode of 'Mega Movers'

Love it too! And witnessed similar action the other week on much smaller structure (a drinks "kiosk" at sports stadium). I even joined and helped. Big fun and a drink on the house afterwards ;-)

When I lived in Kalgoorlie W. Australia I saw several 150 year old houses moved. There they jacked them up and slide a low loader under them. Here in rural Thailand I've never seen a whole house moved but they shuffle rice barns around all the time.

Right on.clap2.gif

Had this been in say, Mother England, Canada, Australia etc, all movers must have been equipped with safety glasses and boots, hard hats, reflective safety vests and the local building and electrical inspectors, several local council members and an assortment of other busybodies would have been present giving orders.

This is called community co-operation. Just did it. Bravo.thumbsup.gif

and if anyone thinks RatCatcher is making it up, let me assure you, he is not! In fact, if anything, he has left out a few things! Such as On-Site Trade Union OH&S Reps and Officials. No Ticket, No Start!

I can't speak for the other countries, but Australia is perhaps the MOST over-regulated country on the planet.

Love it to bits. Only regret is I was not there to help. Brilliant community spirit, something that at times can be lacking in "the modern world". thumbsup.gif clap2.gif clap2.gif clap2.gif

Ummh, it wasn't anyone here suggesting it might be dangerous, it was "Sanook"!

Although I do rather agree with you...

Which is rather why I, and I suspect quite a lot of others rather like living here.

Awesome!

...a Chiropractor's worst nightmare...100+ stuffed backs...the sale of those black Velcro spine support corsets will go through the roof.
