PM to join ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit

BANGKOK, 16 May 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister will be attending the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit to discuss cooperation on various topics as part of his official visit to Russia, according to a spokesman.

Deputy Government Spokesman Maj Gen Werachon Sukondhapatipak has revealed that Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha will be attending the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit during his official visit to Russia. The event was held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of relations between ASEAN and Russia.

He has said this will be a good opportunity for the establishment of new cooperative projects between ASEAN and Russia for mutual benefits under the current global political and economic backdrop.

On the issue of both sides' partnership, ASEAN views Russia's role as a means to balance the power play between regional superpowers. Cooperation ASEAN will provide Russia with more diplomatic and economic channels at a time when anti-Russian sentiments are still prevalent among western nations.

The ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit will be chaired by the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Laotian Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, as Laos is the current chairman country of ASEAN. The Lao PDR is also the coordination country for ASEAN-Russia relations.

Subjects expected to be discussed at this summit include regional security, new challenges, the development of ASEAN-Russia relations, and future cooperation in the fields of economy, science, energy, social, and culture.

He seems go be doing the "jollies" to the max.

He seems to be doing the "jollies" trips to the max, with of course a plane load of "assistants".

Who ever wrote this article needs to go back to school and study grammar. As a journalistic piece, it is appalling!
