Inn Between
The driver of the truck was so drunk that he couldn't think clear enough to make a real statement -- or to flee the scene. POS!!! RIP to this poor kid and sympathy to her family.
ross163103
RIP, hopefully the drunk driver--or his family, aren't rich enough to pay their way out of this like so many others have in the past.
Briggsy
This tragedy was reported. 45 people (or very possibly more) die on average every day on Thai roads. The insanity of it all and complete vacation of any duty of care from the Police and Land Transport Department are difficult to fathom and very third world. clockman
Important issues are ignored. But the lottery price and deck chairs are considered important? We will never understand.!

dunroaming
It is easy to pick and choose individual cases to try to make a point. Maybe a check of the deaths caused by drunk drivers in Thailand broken down by nationality might be more representative. With lack of proper law enforcement many will chance their arm knowing that if caught they can just buy their way out of trouble, whether they are foreigner or Thai. pumpuy
How many death in Thailand are directly related to the consumption of Alcohol ? ( " I did it , but I was drunk ..." ) and how many Death are related to the consumption of Marihuana ? So what should be illegal >>>?>>

jeca22
Always remember you cannot change Thailand. Whatever you think is madness is how they've been doing it forever. Example: Hundreds of Thai people die each Songkran week. Then it is never spoken about again until the following year. Save your breath and mental energy for other things because nothing will ever change here against your wishes. The only time you can force change is with multi nationals and going up the chain of command with your complaints.

It continues as you rightly say but having said that it is no reason not to condemn it. If everyone in Thailand condemned this type of incident maybe, just maybe things would change
onemorechang
RIP 18 years old and her life snuffed out. Murderous Drivers / Riders of Thailand. You don't need to be drunk or sober to kill on the roads here. just have the normal attitude to your fellow countrymen. That's what is accepted buy the government and the rest of the idiots. They all drive home after a hard days work, shinning there bums on chairs, in there nice new cars, why should they care.!!!!!!!, i 18 that's just F%!%!(#XX! , just as life was starting for her.
