IKEA Bang Na delivers but doesn't ship

Featured Replies

I purchased 9 pairs of door handles from IKEA when I was in Bangkok last month. Due to a slight redesign of our Khon Kaen kitchen I need 2 more pair. IKEA will deliver in Metro BKK but that won't help me nor will IKEA's inability/unwillingness to ship like Truemart or Lazada. The handles are not expensive in store but a trip from KK to BKK and back puts the price up quite a bit -- any ideas of a service that can get them for me and ship?

Thanks

I read once on a blog that the personal shopper company from BKK bought furniture and delivered to an address even before the owner arrived in Thailand, so maybe they can also buy your things and send to your address ?

Are you sure that Ikea does not send by post ?

Maybe a member who lives near Ikea could assist our OP :)

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Be careful , as presumably "whoever" is going to want the money sent to them before they send you anything.

You could be easily scammed.

Ikea created an order/pick-up point in Phuket for just this reason. http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_TH/pickuppoint/phuket/

I'm also surprised that they dont have an arrangement with the post office to deliver items, most of which are well-packed and designed to support being transported around. Perhaps they are worried about dealing with claims for damage?

Do Index, Home Pro or any of the other similar stores have arrangements with the PO to deliver items ?

Thinking about this a bit more we have decided to use IKEA's 'local' Bangkok delivery service [590baht] to Rangsit where a friend of my wife lives and she can then send it by post to us in KK.
