National Statistical Office to conduct 2016 census of industries

BANGKOK, 19 May 2016 (NNT) - The National Statistical Office is conducting a census on industries in 2016 in order that the state, private sector and educational institutions can make informed decisions based on the data collected.

Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Uttama Savanayana chaired the commencement of the census program which will collect data on the production and management systems of businesses across the country. The information gathered will ensure that the country has accurate information on various industries that reflects the prevailing market conditions.

A database will be made available for the government to design policies accordingly while the private sector will be able to use the information to make informed management decisions. Meanwhile, educational institutions will be able to draw on the database when conducting various studies.
