Do not accept the offer !

Chinese nationals can only obtain visas in China the offer is likely to be a fraud and you could end with a fake "visa" in your passport.

have you visited this company office? it look like a scam but if you wish to verify is better to take a fly to Singapore, it's really cheap only 1000 baht one way, and there you can take a look in real and get the visa at Thai embassy in Orchard road for 1500 baht if the work is real and if there are restrictions for chinese nationals you can go to China to get it there.

Not sure what the 35k baht would be for. It is probably the cost they expect to pay an agent or lawyer and associated fees to apply for a work permit and a change of visa status of visa status to get a non immigrant visa entry.

35000 baht to change your visa? Don't do any business with these people.

I think they are talking about doing a change of visa status to get a non immigrant visa based upon qualifying for an extension for working. Any nationality can get that done.

Whenever a company asks you to pay (for whatever) in order to start working for them, run away.

Sure but if that is the case the price being asked to secure a conversion + a WP seems a bit expensive

Only companies in Thailand can apply for a work permit in Thailand.

If they were honest they would have deducted a couple thousand baht from your first pay check for visa costs, or pay for it themselves. Asking for you to pay 35000 baht to them even as an option shows what their character is. Not people I'd want to work for.

The only way to change a visa status from Tourist Visa to Non-B is for you to leave Thailand and apply for a new Non-B visa at the Thai Embassy in China at a cost of around THB 1500 for the visa. After you obatain the Non-B, you enter Thailand on a Non-B and your company in Thailand can then submit an application for a 1 year Work Permit and a 1 Year Multiple entry Visa (these are 2 different applications). If your Company were to hire an agent/lawyer to do the Work Permit and 1 Year application for you, then it is possible for them to charge a fee of about THB 35k. You should contact your HR in Singapore and ask for more clarification on this matter.

There are errors in your post.

It is possible to do a change of visa status to obtain a non immigrant visa at immigration in Bangkok.

The fee for a single entry non-b visa is 2000 baht not 1500 baht.

You do not get multiple entry visas at immigration. A one year extension can be applied for based upon working and then a single or multiple re-entry permit can be applied for.

It seems your best option is to return to China to get a single entry non-b visa at the embassy in Beijing or one of the consulates. Your employer will first need to apply for a work permit and obtain a work permit approval letter for you to apply for the visa.

The change of visa status can only be done in Bangkok and it requires two trip 15 days apart to obtain the visa/entry stamp. I suspect that the company plans on using an agent to do the visa application in Bangkok which could be a big part of the 35k baht number. Also the list of requirements to do the change is long.
