Anyone know of a reputable motorbike repair shop in the Central Pattaya area? I fell off my rental motorbike a week ago at about 25-30km/h and ended up badly scratching the plastic front-side section of the motorbike quite a bit. I presume the only way for them to fix this is for them to order a replacement of the plastic front-side section and throw out the old one? Roughly how much would something like this cost, ballpark figures?

Pattaya klang just before third road going from big c extra towards the beach on the big c side of the road. Quite a hole in the wall but do good work. Definitely cheaper to get it fixed than letting the renting company gouge you.

I go there, always busy, other shops go there for parts

Yes, look for the skinny guy at the back, his English is pretty good

That place is pretty good. They managed to find a few obscure parts for my mate's bike and get him running again.

Another good place is on a side Soi of Soi Buakhaow - not sure of the Soi number but on the left as you approach form Pattaya Tai, maybe a click up the road.

Otherwise, check out Lazada - you can get individual body parts/fairings ex Bangkok for 200B per piece, or less.

Yes but i did witness the police turn up one day and get the shop to move everything off the pavement

Mac has also taken over the small soi beside his building, it's littered with damaged bikes.

My bike was parked there for many days, waiting on parts.

He's still cheaper than Mityon but he's increasing his prices for foreigners, too many foreigners going there now, whinging and whining about this and that, he's fed up.

Unless its an exorbitant increase, I won’t change. They do good work there, just gotta be patient. Too hard to find quality.

You get what you pay for. So if you go to a hole in the wall place, not well organized, or parts all over the floor, don’t be surprised when the fix fails or worse, it damages other parts of the engine/bike.

Many years ago (2006 ?? )

my motorcycle 'broke down' ( the drive shaft splines sheared off)

close to the shop mentioned above on second road...they totally dissembled the whole engine on the floor in front of the shop replaced the drive shaft and fitted everything back together in a few hours while we waited..I think the price was 2000 baht.

the bike was fine for years until my wife sold it after turning it into a mobile sidecar shop

🫣 wish I had kept it ..such a fun bike.

Yes, there are a few repair shops on this stretch of road, on the right as well. Had a few punctures done there over the years.

Yes it was a stock 120 cc 2 stroke air cooled bike that beat the pants off the (equivalent ?)

Honda Sonic 125 four stroker..well at least the one I test drove along the newly concreted (and hardly populated) Soi Buakhao.

The more I think about it the more I should have kept the bike as they now seem as rare as hens teeth.

I have a modified Honda Click 125, with 2 rear wheels. Can anybody recommend a shop for inspection? I went to 2 shops on Buakhow and asked, both close to Soi Diana, but neither wanted to do it. Apparently, the mod requires some kind of special expertise.

You would think so.

Is it even legal on the roads? I had heard non standard modified machines were not, even Samlors, which get a blind eye.

Check the Facebook Pattaya groups, there's a guy who advertises renting those, he'd know how to fix

Apparently yes. It's been registered and insured and taxes were paid. Legit plates, too.
