Darasamuth underpass to close Tuesday night

PHUKET: -- The Darasamuth Underpass is to close temporarily from 11pm Tuesday night until about 5am Wednesday, confirmed Samak Luedwonghad, director of the Phuket Highways Office.

“We have to close all three lanes to improve and maintain the electric system and ensure the efficiency of tunnel lights,” said Mr Samak.

“Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during that time.”

When they are done "fixing the lights" you will no longer see the cracks in the ceiling proving it was just a shadow.

I would guess not so low cost, just too much siphoned cut from the cost = cheaper materials, poorer construction methods.

For a long time coming from the south there were 2 green lanes. This has recently changed, and now there is 1 green lane from both directions, but coming from the south some people still presume they have 2 lanes.
