Hi all.

The longer i look at this form and in greater detail, the more confused i get.

There is a section 'Your Relationship to the Sponsor' which really foxes me, particularly as it doesn't apply to anyone actually living with their partner or wife already. All the questions about how often you are in touch and how you keep in touch etc are not meant for couples like us who've lived together for about 5 of the last 7 years.

But what i'd like to ask specifically, is in what way/s are questions 1.17 and 1.19 any different to each other in terms of the possible answers they are looking for ? I cannot see why there are two questions apparently asking the same thing ? But i'm prepared to be corrected ! -

Also, while i'm being boring, what kinds of costs do they mean by 'Shared Financial Responsibilities' in question 1.25 ?

Ok, i THINK i've worked out that 1.17 is for Non-marrieds; and 1.19 is for Marrieds, though the form as usual hides this quite well.

I still can't guess what 'Shared Financial Responsibilities' might be, given that the overall bias of the form is towards people who are living apart, and tending to be in different countries.

I'm only guessing, but could it be a joint mortgage, credit cards, loans and the like?

Thanks - so that might be the big stuff, rather than the beer-bill! Ok, so i might put Rent, Electricity, Internet, and Water.

I am stuck on one apparently minor aspect of the online VAF4A form which any help with would be much appreciated.

It's a problem that crops up for anyone who (like me) does not HAVE, a 'Permanent Address' - something which is asked for at one point.

What i have : a long-term rented house with my Thai partner in Thailand + an Offer of a room in a house when/if we get the settlement visa.

(I have never been in any official sense, an 'Ex-Pat'.)

So is my 'permanent UK address' the one where the offer of accommodation has been made, and which will be included as the 'Accommodation' component in our application ? Importantly perhaps, it is my UK Correspondence address for all banking matters etc. Or don't i have a 'UK permanent address' - which for various reasons i don't like the sound of.

With apologies for how dull this question is ! (and gratitude in advance for any help).
