I will be in Chiang Rai for a few days next week.

Can any of you guys inform me if I can locate this curry paste?

I think the answer will be no, but I thought I would ask.

Further to our previous discussion, I tried Tesco Lotus on Hangdong Road Chiang Mai today.

kind assistant took me to the "Imported" Section where I grabbed the last remaining Jar of the Paste. Then got the "run-around" by other staff until my wife arrived on the scene and extracted a promise from one of the staff (she wrote down his name) to Phone her when fresh stocks arrive.

Could be today, tomorrow, who knows????

Patek's Curry Paste and pickles - at Tops.

There's a reasonably large ethnic Indian population in the region so I'd be surprised if it was not available.

Like a lot of pastes though, I assume that the true chef makes their own.

I'd go for Tops or maybe even the Thai super markets like the one on Thanon Baanpa Pragarn Road west of the clock tower.
