Medical Council to send specialists to examine Dhammachayo



BANGKOK: -- The Medical Council has decided to send a team of specialists to Wat Dhammakaya to examine the health conditions of Phra Dhammachayo as requested by the embattled abbot’s doctors.

Medical Council president Dr Somsak Lolekha said Thursday that there is still doubt among members of the public about the actual health conditions of Phra Dhammachayo which needs to be cleared up by the specialists.

A team of specialists from the Royal College of Tropical Medicine, Royal College of Surgeons and Royal College of Radiologists will be sent to the temple in the company of some council members to examine the abbot in accordance with procedure, said Dr Somsak.

The council also appointed an ad hoc panel to check the doctor’s certificate earlier issued by a provincial hospital doctor confirming Phra Dhammachayo’s ailments. The panel will also investigate whether the doctor has the authority to issue the certificate.

Doesn't sound promising for the monk. They may need more baricades outside the temple.

Not only examinations is requires here, a thorough internal and external in depth full blood tests, MRI

or CT scan and all the while the abbot should be isolated from his followers and his ' doctors ' who

might try to interfere and put pressure on the teams of the impartial doctors.....

A ploy made by many. Mubarak kept this going for years and is still doing it. Ronnie Biggs also. there are others that I daren't mention.

If the medical council want a full impartial report they need experts from outside Thailand.

Non buddist, that is the only way the truth will come out.

Buddist doctors will be pressured by his followers to report things showing him to be in poor health.

I hope he is deemed fit to fly.
