Deputy PM to sue suspects claiming to be his advisers

BANGKOK, 3 June 2016 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan is preparing to file a lawsuit against three suspects who falsely claimed to be his advisers.

The suspects were identified as Worakorn Samarnyart, Wirat Sakjirapongpa and Kriangkrai Chotekul. They claimed to be officials of Site Preparation Management Co., Ltd. and advisers to Gen Prawit.

The men attempted to meet with the Director-General of the Revenue Department to receive 23 million baht in payment for the government procurement of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units. However, the company's UPS units were rejected due to discrepancies over their specifications.

Gen Prawit has denied being acquainted with the suspects. The three men were arrested and charged with attempted fraud.

Prawit is as big a prat as Prayut.

Now try saying that 15 times after you've had a few drinks. thumbsup.gif

The three "advisers" were heard to say UPS YOURS as they thumbed their noses at the threat of the lawsuit!

So he intends to sue the mad monk then. I would assume?

But who would then pull his strings?

I'm sure these "suspects" just got confused; all those members of the Hutt Clan look alike.

There's more to this tale........it would be extremely dopey for 3 people to claim to be working for Prawit, if in fact they were not!

I understand that some people are a little loose, but this simply doesn't make sense.

They knew of the pending purchase......and the probability of collecting the funds (do govt. funds get disbursed in this manner?).....but didn't know that the UPS units had been rejected.....investigative reporting does not exist here! IMO

"Deputy PM to sue suspects claiming to be his advisors" -- Sue them for what ? Is this some kind of twist on "Defamation" ?

The deputy affirmed "I don't advice from anyone, no matter how good it might be. Don't want to set a precedent"

the UPS spec's they submitted didn't meet requirement , they should have been notified that their tender was unsuccessful and the reason ,the successful tenders would receive payment on delivery of the UPS , end of story , what happened after that is anybody' guess, its apparent they used the DPM name for gain.

Yes. You can't use someone else's name to gain favor, or exert pressure or fear, for advantage if there is no relationship that you claim.

If you do, the person(s) you have named can so you as you are defaming them by stating an untruth.

They probably told him not to eat so much.

They failed. This obviously calls for an outraged denial of acquaintance as no one in authority could possibly be associated with unsuccessful people.

Wonder what would have happened had they succeeded.

Judging by the mans public pronouncements he should also be suing his genuine "advisors" presuming he has any.

They probably told him not to eat so much.

That's a rotten lie. He's not fat because he eats too much. It's probably his glands or something.

I have it on good authority, that he eats like a bird.

A gannet maybe.

Lots of folk really like the dumpy little fella.

Well, of course he did. whistling.gif

Sounds like a bit of military corruption has been sniffed out and someone is desperately trying to distance themselves from it before the story breaks in the media.

It's pretty much a certainty that a journalist (or several journalists) are currently having their arms twisted (being threatened) to keep quiet about what they already know.

Another proud moment for all those TVF intellects that have been so pro-coup for the last two depressing years.

Bravo!

Actually I doubt Prawit was behind this. It all seems *way* to intelligent to have been Prawit behind it. I mean, the way it was worked out and done wasn't smart in any absolute sense, but it was smarter than Prawit by a country mile.
