Changing from non immigrant B to non immigrant ED Visa

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I am from Italy and i went to give all the documents for the ED visa (as the hiring company from Thailand wants) but due to Italian laws the support letter from my former university cannot be done as I already graduated so I had to apply for non immigrant B visa because I lack the time of waiting 2 more days (i start to work next week) and they are not that happy over there.

So, I have 2 questions:

1_is it possible, once in Thailand, to ask for the Visa change (B to ED) by doing all the procedures going out from Thailand, documents etc?

2_what is the difference for the hiring company between ED and B visa? More taxes to pay? (if so, how much in %?)

Thank you, Luca

You need a non-b visa and a work permit to work.

A non-ed visa is for attending school.

But they gave me the contract (its an intership) for the ED visa, not B

You can do the internship with the non-b visa. I assume you only got a single entry visa.

If your internship is longer than 90 days you can go out to a nearby embassy or consulate and get a single entry non-ed visa to get another 90 days.

If possible, may i know the difference for the hiring company betweem ED and B visa?

There is no difference between the two visas for the company you will be doing the internship at.
