Skynet Myanmar Satellite

Featured Replies

With the demise of Maige TV, and the fact that TrueVisions lost the EPL, I cast me net further afield and came up with the Myanmar Satellite Skynet.

I had a dish and box fitted in a couple of months ago and was very impressed, but even more impressed today when they were advertising that they are showing all the Euro 2016 games live, the Olympics from Rio live and even more interesting is they have just extended their EPL live coverage until the end of 2019.

I purchased mine from an official agent here in China, so for those next door neighbours in Thailand should be able to find a supplier there. Well worth looking for

Is Skynet free to air or do you have to use their "special" set top box with yearly/monthly subscription ?

Requires a set-top box and subscription.

Have dealt with satthai.tv myself and would recommend.

I am guessing you subscribe to this system? If yes what is the package and how much is the monthly/annual cost? Did the seller install it? From Bangkok to your place?

No I don't subscribe to Skynet. I bought K+(Vietnamese) also from Satthai. Both are about 15k baht which includes the decoder box and a years subscription. I don't believe you can pay monthly although there is a 6 month package available.

I bought the sat box mail order and had it installed along with dish realignment by a local guy.

Apt, I gotta ask? What is on this VN sat box that you see and like. I went to the web site for the packages and really don't see a lot that would draw me to them. The Skynet packages seem more interesting.

I'm a big cycling fan so Eurosport is a must for me. Also it carries the English Premier League which I'm a fan of. At the time there was a problem getting the Skynet decoder card for the satbox, maybe a 10 to 14 day wait so I went for K+ which I got mail order the next day. If there wasn't such a wait I would have gone for Skynet as there is more channels available for similar price.

Since last October we have had TOT WINET available in the village so I am now watching through ilikehd tv but the quality of the streams has gone down these last few weeks and if it doesn't improve soon I will be getting the Skynet package.

Ok thanks for the new info and I agree that the Skynet seems to be the better deal channel wise.

I also agree that iLikeHD is still having issues with keeping channels up and running. I have payed for monthly packages at various times over the lifespan of Ilike and the new web site is better but the overall up time for channels leaves me wondering. Some channels work almost all the time. Say 99.9% up and others mainly the ones I really want to see maybe average somewhere in the 70-80% up time. The real frustration is when you are really in to the program/event and then it justs drops off.

Yes Skynet seems interesting to me. Will it work on the C band dish?

Exactly my experience with iLikehd :)

I believe Skynet is available on c and ku bands but you will need check with the supplier as not 100% sure.
