Sewing shops that will custom make business shirts in bulk?

Featured Replies

I want to have a number of high quality, Egyptian-cotton or Oxford Cloth mens' business shirts made to be sold back home. Where would I start to find such shops?

Obviously just going through a tailor shop would involve a considerable middleman mark up that I wouldn't be interested in paying. If I go into different sewing shops, I could eventually find a shop that will produce high quality shirts. Also, where can I find high-quality Egyptian-cotton or Oxford Cloth fabric?

Thanks, gents.

The shops are just "fronts" for factories for tourists. Unfortunately; its not like Jermyn Street in London. The quality of stitching, fabric, fit and quality control is variable most of the time. I'm sure there are some really good individual tailors that produce " in house" but they are few and far apart. I'm sure someone living here will be able to direct you to one.

Not sure about bulk pricing, but Raja Wongse on Sukhumvit near Nana made me some really good shirts (suits were just average).

Sampeang is the garment district, often referred to as "little India'.

If you dont speak Thai, the second you open your mouth you are just a tourist and will pay as such.

The price you will pay for fabric, usually in 50+ metre rolls then get someone to cut and make, you would be probably better going to a Tailor type shop to start with and cut the hassle factor.
