A lot of negativity against Oscar but anyone who has been to South Africa and seen the

crime rates and that every house has high walls and barbed wire should understand

that a double amputee awaking in the night in the fog sleep could jump to the wrong

conclusion. I have no idea if he is guilty or not but his defence is credible. A tragedy

for sure. Only one person knows for sure and that is Oscar P. No winners here only

losers.

His defence is credible ???? He says he woke up after hearing a noise, the lady who he is supposedly sleeping with is not in his bed, so he starts shooting up the toilet !! Give us a break !

Surely Oscar Pistorius can't have been the first male to wake up legless on Valentine's day morning and shoot all over his girl friend's face imagining she was somebody else.

PRETORIA: -- Seen by many as a desperate last bid for leniency for murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, South African athlete Oscar Pistorius has removed his prosthetic legs and hobbled in court.

Sobbing in front of the judge, the double amputee’s defence team argued he was a vulnerable man.

Pistorius’ lawyer Barry Roux insisted no purpose would be served by sending him to prison.

Earlier, Reeva Steenkamp’s cousin Kim Martin also told the court she did not believe the Athlete’s girlfriend loved him.

The latest dramatic scenes in Pretoria follow Tuesday’s emotional plea by Ms Steenkamp’s father Barry who urged the judge to hand out a lengthy sentence.

The hearing is reconsidering Pistorius’s sentence after he was found guilty of murder, overturning an earlier verdict of manslaughter.

The 29-year-old shot his girlfriend in the early hours of Valentine’s Day in 2013 after firing four times through his bedroom toilet door.

The sprinter faces a minimum jail term of 15 years for the killing, though that could be reduced by mitigating factors and time already served.

He was CONVICTED of a lesser crime by a black judge and the harsher punishment was given to him by a white judge but that is irrelevant because the SA justice system is actually quite impartial which is why it's convicted a multi-millionare international sports star in this case and why it doesn't even mind going after the country's sitting president (read Zuma, constitutional court, Nkandla) Not many other countries' courts go after fame and fortune. I'm proud of ours and sorry that you obviously got your info on SA from a racist (black or white) old timer.

Oscar Pistorius had campaigned to compete in abled bodied sport events. His moto is "You're not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are able by the abilities you have."

Now he uses his disability as a bid for leniency.
