Why, as a tourist ? Usually your overseas Visa / Mastercard / Amex will enable you to draw money.

I opened an account a year or two back, using a thirty-thousand baht starter. This was with Krung Thai Bank, the most widely distributed bank. I had a few forms to fill in, passport to produce, that was it.

Received an ATM card, asked if I wanted a limit of 20,000 baht per day, or 50,000. Knowing what I'm like when well-oiled, I chose the lower option.

The banks are asking for non-immigrant visa's now Lop. They were asking for a WP too but they woke up that there were retirees to consider too.
