BANGKOK: -- Police investigating human trafficking have announced the arrest of a man who lured a seven year old boy away from his parents in Thonburi for several days and forced him to beg on the streets for him.

It emerged that the man - Sang Klinsanthia - had been involved in 5 similar cases since 2003. In the latest case he had taken the boy from Wuthakart Soi 1 in Thonburi on June 3rd and kept him under his control for two days forcing him to beg reported tnamcot. The boy had finally managed to escape and alert a member of the public to his plight. He was later reunited with his parents and the subsequent police enquiry led to the homeless Sang.

The case came under the terms of human trafficking and was handled by officers from that section of the force. They discovered there were five other cases committed by the man who said that he would lure children away from their parents and keep them for 3-5 days until they had got enough money for him by begging. He also admitted molesting a child, police said.

Sadly, I doubt it.

I have posted before that the police finally managed to stop the elephants beggars from being on the streets of Bkk but they never seem to do anything about the poor children that are forced to do this.

You see a huge increase in this shortly before peak tourist season but it continues year round.

The BIB turn a blind eye to it as they likely profit from it.

The adults and the BIB involved should ALL be up on human trafficking charges!!!

...if they had given him 25 years for kidnapping a child to begin with....he wouldn't have gotten this far...

Well, "You've got to pick a pocket or two"

Not forgetting " In this world one thing counts , in the bank large amounts , money doesn't grow on trees you know ..........................."

Yes, why would this not have been taken seriously in the past? Nobody ever took a rich kid and asked for ransom? Is this not a serious crime here?
