Council approves 14.8 million baht for Wong Amat repair before military takeover

PATTAYA:--The Pattaya City Council has approved 14.8 million baht to rebuild the foundation under the Wong Amat Beach footpath and protect it from future erosion.

The project includes an 810-sq.-meter rock-filled wall that serves as the base for the footpath and protects it from erosion caused by water flowing out of flood-drainage pipelines. A soil retaining wall and repairs to the sidewalk surface itself also are included.

The Wong Amat pavement and bricks sustained heavy damage from recent storms and a foundation wall that supports the footpath was broken as well.

Which council member's brother got the contract?

Just about every country uses competitive bidding but I get the impression that Thailand doesnt. Just think how much money would be saved if they did.

Gobble up the Christmas turkey before the wifes inlaws arrive at the feast ?

The incoming military should look at this as a matter of urgency.

The incoming military should look at this as a matter of urgency.

On the contrary - they have no business here at all - its a civic matter not a military issue.

The beach walk in Wongamat has been repaired every year for the previous seven years .Also beach road Pattaya .This is a permanent job for some sub standard contractor on the payroll .This 14.8 million or about half of it will be swept out to sea along with the cement pilings as in previous years

I think this comes under ongoing maintenance as it is done every year as the quality is so bad it never lasts.

Jobs for the boys.

Biddings in Thailand are not about offering the most competitive price for your services/products. It's about how much you are willing to pay to win the bid.
