NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 15 June 2016 (NNT) - The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany has participated in a joint workshop in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province concerning integrated water management, to exchange views on sustainable methods of coping with droughts and floods.

His Excellency, Mr Peter Prugel chaired the water management meeting in order to look at innovations and discuss suggestions on ways to reduce the negative impact of drought or floods in the Tapi, Trang and Tah Dee water basins. Mr Prugel stressed the importance of cooperation at an international level in addressing the increased severity of natural disasters as a result of climate change

The meeting heard a report on the Trang water basin by a joint research committee convened with Germany, as well as reports by Thai researchers on the benefits of erecting dams.

Seminars included discussion of the use of drones in water management, Germany's education system, and case studies on erecting dams.

yea and the dutch came over and told thais how to fix their flooding problems back in 2010. they submitted a report and it was ignored then the went home. pointless. poster above is right. build more dams, there is enough rainfall it just needs to be collected. unfortunately many dam projects fail as the money somehow drains away.
