BANGKOK, 23 June 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Public Health has initiated a plan to protect against the spread of communicable diseases both in Bangkok and the provinces.

Minister of Public Health Dr. Piyasakol Sakolsathayathorn explained that the 2016-2019 Protection and Control of Communicable Diseases Plan was created to satisfy the Communicable Disease Act and was drafted by both his ministry and all relevant units. The goal of the plan is protect Thailand from communicable diseases and ensure the good health of its citizens by eradicating or controlling the spread of contagious illnesses through the setting up of a network of agencies and employing public participation.

The plan comprises 4 main tasks, namely; protection, monitoring and detection, control and response and support of work done against communicable diseases.

Provincial councils are to be set up along with working teams to be stationed at the nation’s entry and exit points and working teams for the control of communicable diseases. The teams will enact the plans strategies by creating supplemental tasks in response to specific cases of disease outbreak.

Surely there is a system that the CDC (Center for Disease Control) already has which defines what happens and the details in that.
