00127 then mobile number both without the 0 i.e 0027 86 **** 00127 86**** but to no avail.

Which mobile phone operator are you using?

International SMS's with a cell phone from and to Thailand are problematical for many people.

I have found that using the web with www.ipipi.com to be very reliable. You need to buy some credits which are very cheap using something like Paypal or a credit card.

Also I think our own Thaivisa.com has such a service ??

You sure it's 86 for the mobile? Depends which carrier she's with, I guess.

Sometimes the carrier becomes overloaded - especially to a cell. Try her land-line for a test.

Instead of using "0027" use "+27"
