bubba1
I got a haircut and the barber used a razor to 'clean up' the back of the neck and the sides. It was a new blade however she did 'clean' it several times on a cotton like substance that had been used before and had someone else's hair on it. I had a small cut on my ear when I got home. Is this a risk for hepatitis C? How long do I need to wait to get tested?
tonray
There is a risk...but likely very, very small. Only if there was fresh blood on the cloth would you be at risk. Find a new barber.
grumpyoldman
Hugely paranoid mate. Just be sure to wear a condom the next time you spank the monkey, wart on your hand might transfer to your willy
Sheryl
From what you describe, the risk of Hep C, B or the like is essentially nil.
chopin2
If the razor indeed is contaminated and you got a deep cut, the risk of transmission is: Hepatitis B 30% Hepatitis C 3% HIV 0,3% But in your case the blade was new, but you suspect there might have been contamination coming from the cotton? I think that's pretty far fetched. That said, i would never aloud a barbershop in Thailand to use sharp blades on my skin.....

I have had the Hepatitis B vaccine course so that is why I only mentioned C.
Hammock
Next time better avoid these razor clean ups. Say "may au" and don't take risk.
bkk6060
Your chances of getting struck by a motorbike are much greater then any risk of Hep C. Don't be so paranoid.
