PHNOM PENH, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said on Tuesday that the country's economic growth is forecast at 7.1 percent this year, as inflation is expected less than 1.9 percent.

"In 2016, the country would be able to realize a growth of around 7.1 percent, as the inflation will stay below 1.9 percent, while trade will improve because of speedy export compared to import," he said here during the 65th founding anniversary of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP).

The Southeast Asian nation's economy mainly depends on traditional sectors such as garments, tourism, construction and agriculture. Hun Sen, who is also the president of CPP, said that this year's growth would be led by service, industry, and construction sectors. Meanwhile, he said that Cambodia's GDP per capita would reach 1,301 U.S. dollars in 2016, up 7 percent from 1,215 U.S. dollars in 2015.
