BANGKOK — Critics and human rights activists agreed Thailand deserves to be removed from the United States’ list of the worst human trafficking offenders, as was expected to be announced Thursday night.

Although concerned it could mean Washington will take a softer approach to the military regime which came to power by way of the 2014 coup d’etat, several activists said the government’s efforts in reining in trafficking should be acknowledged in the annual U.S. State Department’s updated Trafficking in Persons report to be released at 8pm Bangkok time.

There is none so blind, as those who cannot see.

Pathetic if they do. Military, Police, government, officials, Two decades of slave trading, and buillions of baht. And how many in jail?

Counting chickens before they hatch - could end up with egg on face (again)!

This is done to shore up power in the ASEAN region by the USA against China. There is trouble brewing with Philippines and other claims to the South China Sea. It is always better to have your friends close and your enemies closer.

Thailand is making a big hoo haa of this as they need more propaganda.

Does the USA need tiddly winks tin pot Thailand? NO WAY. this si just making it easier for the friends of the West in the ASEAN regions. Remember whoever gains the White house will be punishing China for currency manipulation trade manipulation and shoring up home business first. Donny and Hills are both against a lot of what China is doing stealing things, ignoring patents and cyber crime. (yes I know it goes both ways but he hwho has the gold maketh the rules and CHINA needs the USA more than the USA needs China. Go back prior to 1994 China made lamps and dolls. It can go back very easily as they invent nothing

This is why USA wants to make sure there is sufficient SPACE around that country. Nothing at all to appease this tin pot regime

The United States removed Thailand from its human trafficking blacklist on Thursday, though forced labor remains widespread in the nation's lucrative seafood industry.
