July 6, 201610 yr I have a friend flying out from Chiang Rai International tomorrow and I think it's important he checks through immigration here and has his luggage booked straight through to London. He's not been well and seems to get confused easily. He's been cleared to fly by a doctor this week. Some domestic/international connections do this but another friend had to check back in at Bangkok (Silk/Qantas) late last year. His ticket is booked right through with Emirates.
July 6, 201610 yr Author OK, when all else fails, ring the company. Emirates is not allied to Bangkok Air, to check luggage right through you have to be with Etihad, Airberlin, JAL, JET or Cathay. What you can do, at Chiang Rai check in you can request to be met, and at no charge someone will meet you at the plane in Bangkok, help you collect your luggage and take it to your next check in with you.
July 7, 201610 yr Author Well after all that he went through immigration in Chiang Rai and his bag checked right through to London. So out of 3 inquiries the responses were... 1 ) Ring office: Not sure 2 ) Visit city office: No 3 ) Check in: Yes
