NLA representatives to attend Asian Parliamentary Assembly - July 24-28

BANGKOK, 7 July 2016 (NNT) – A group of members of the National Legislative Assembly will attend a meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Pakistan in late July.

NLA member Gen. Nipat Thonglek is scheduled to lead a group of his fellow members to a meeting of the Standing Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development of the APA, which will take place between July 24 and 28 in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

Ahead of the trip, the Thai delegation held a meeting with Dr. Sohail Khan, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Thailand to discuss various important matters.

Among the issues raised at the meeting were the setting up of the Thailand-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, the promotion of parliamentary relations, Thailand-Pakistan trade cooperation and any recommendation regarding the group’s stay in Islamabad.

Dr. Khan has also offered the Thai delegation all cooperation and any assistance that may be needed, such as the proposed courtesy call on the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan and immigration clearances.
