Ex 'Sabado Gigante' actor gets 153-year child porn sentence

MIAMI (AP) — The comedic actor who played gray-haired grandma Dona Concha on Univision's "Sabado Gigante" has been sentenced to 153 years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Adonis Losada, 52, learned his fate on Wednesday, several months after a Miami-Dade jury convicted him on 51 counts of possession of child porn images on his computer.

Losada still insists "there is plenty of evidence" that he didn't commit the crime, according to The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/29i0Jdl ).

Prosecutors say Losada met an undercover detective in a chat room called "Baby Toddler Love." Investigators later found sexual photos of babies and toddlers that left jurors shaken during the trial.

Losada was first arrested in 2009. The same investigation led to other charges in Palm Beach County, where Losada is serving a 10-year sentence.

Especially when the FBI could well have planted the pictures on his computer. They do that kind of thing, manufacture criminals.

Well there is the dichotomy. There are plenty of parents out there doing a great job of destroying the lives of innocent children, plenty of politicians sending soldiers in to destroy the lives of innocent children, plenty of commanders using drones to destroy the lives of innocent children, plenty of social welfare people in the UK destroying the lives of innocent children. Are they on a par with some rock spider looking at images on a computer? well they all destroy the lives of innocent children. I am all for standardisation. there are a lot of 153 year sentences hanging around a lot of peoples necks. Just sayin

Meanwhile, as this guy gets 153 years for looking at images two 50 yr old Australian guys have just been arrested for raping a 10 month old girl. Should be on a 1000 years I guess. Cyanide or a bullet is cheapest.

I guess in a country where prisons are for profit this guy has just become a million dollar plus asset! A few people are cashing in on his life time incarceration !!

It's pretty simple math,, 51 individual counts of possession of kiddie porn,, a single picture ,,times 3 years per picture equals his 153 year sentence. Now argue amongst yourselves if three years is appropriate for possession of a porn picture of a child. For the record I'm okay with the sentence.

Those images must've been pretty bad. I was thinking they can't help themselves, you know genetics or developmental problems, the sex instinct is pretty strong, but then I thought about Xnian monks and nuns, chastity is always an option (ok, I know, priests, child abuse, and all that, but I'm talking about normal heterosexual people who choose it as a positive lifestyle, not a refuge from normal life). Also, I used to think this was aberrant behaviour, confined to a tiny minority of the population, now I'm not so sure.

I agree with what you said in that this is disgusting as it gets and punishable as a crime, but also that 153 year prison sentence just for possession seems way over the top.

The Big Fish here are the ones that Produce and Sell this disgusting garbage. But what they have done is like giving a life sentence to a guy for buying cocaine for his own use while the sellers and importers walk around freely, . .
