Car respray in Pattaya

Featured Replies

Has anyone had any respraying done in the general vicinity (or indeed anywhere in Chonburi if the quality is good, as I'm happy to go a reasonable distance) and been satisfied with the work? I haven't done a search as situations change.

I used to have a guy up in Bkk who did all my vehicle work, and he was first class and straight as an arrow. But the lovely old bugger up and died.

Hello, sorry I was looking for the same thing in Internet and found your message, did you get any reply ? Thank you.

So far, no personal messages and nothing on here, clearly.

Pattaya Garage, on left hand side of Sukhumvit heading north between the Esso petrol station and the next set of traffic lights.

Had a few jobs done there, both paid for by myself and insurance companies, and everyone was perfect. Very, very professional, and excellent workmanship.

The only downside is that they can be very busy, so your car can sometimes be there a couple of months (depending on exactly what needs to be done or if parts need to be ordered).

Usually what they do is keep your car at least for weeks until they can organize their life to work on it !

So ridiculous when they could just plan and ask you to bring the car when they can really start working on it!

So you're saying it's somewhere on a 1 kilometer stretch of the western side of Sukhumvit between South and Central roads...very helpful. If it's the shop I think you mean, it's not actually on Suk but down Suk Soi 44 about 200 meters on the left (a car ceramic coating place is on the corner). If you've passed Micky Ds you just missed the turn-off.

That's not what I was saying.

I was referring to the Esso station north of BKK-PTY hospital and the next lights (I believe where you turn for the water treatment works).

Thanks for your witty, constructive, and helpful reply.

It's ok Woody1 - I know where you mean, and there shouldn't be any problem finding it. Thanks for the tip - it's the only one I have so far, so I guess that will have to do. Cheers.

Proves my point how confusing your reply was...there are multiple Esso stations aling Sukhumvit in Pattaya. In any case, there are now two body shops included in the replies to choose from as I've had satisfactory work done at the place I mentioned.

Paisan Garage Pattaya

This body shop came highly recommended by a friend who gets a lot of work done, and I just had our car repaired and sprayed the left half, front to rear.

I am picky, and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of work, and reasonable price. The paint matched flawlessly, and I could not discern where the transition was.

Several people entrust them to do work on fine sports cars, and they were exact in their estimate, and got the car back the day they said we would.

Perhaps give them a call.

A libelous troll post has been removed

Arnold Judas Rimmer of Jupiter Mining Corporation Ship Red Dwarf

Fell out with most of Pattaya central suppliers, as usual in a city such as this or indeed Bangkok the prices are out of proportion to the cost of labour.

Along time ago decided to look a bit further afield for car bodywork jobs and was recommended to go to a body shop at Ban Sare.

Its just on the right before the traffic lights at Ban Sare , on Sukhumvit, cannot be missed , very easy to find.

Just an example

Fortuner front right wing, bonnet damaged where I ran over one of these longed legged laundry drying apparatus that are always outside the houses of those gainfully employed in the home laundry business

Pattaya Garage the one previously mentioned in multiple post 12K Baht and two weeks

The Ban Sare Garage 4K Baht, delivered in the morning and collected 5 0 pm

Not being an expert in this field I really couldnt tell you if there was, is or would have been any difference in the quality of the work done on the Fortuner that was owned by a large car rental company in Thailand but when I took it back and owned up to the damage, they couldn't tell me where the damage had been.

^^^ Bang Saray is fine by me - thanks for that.

If you changed the bonnet they of course put a cheap copy from China instead of original part, and if you only painted it 4000 is the regular price anywhere I have been in this country.

The correct price is around 3000/4000 for each part of car painted, 3000 for a door, 3000 for bonnet, etc...

Easy to calculate how much it should cost to fix a car, and even if someone doesn't like it because he is the kind who let the garage keep his car for weeks in case of repair, no garage has even kept my cars more than a week, even if I sometimes promised 1000 more if it was fixed on time.

^^^ Yes, thank you Mr Spam - how those prices hold up all over Thailand is a moot point given that situations vary - labor costs, types of materials and so on. It might be a rough guide that you are quoting, and does fit somewhat with my past experience. But ultimately, it's a case of caveat emptor. Thanks for your input.

Just for the record, the garage is on the left just before the TL in the direction of Sattahip

The damage to the rented Fortuna was dents on the right wing and also on the bonnet, there were no replacement of any parts

(Just thought I would claryfy

Same chap repaired a back bumper on our vigo as well 800 Baht, did a great job in disguising the Bosses attempts to learn how to reverse without hitting a lamp post and causing a big dint in the middle of the bumper!

I guess I could have included some more details on the work I had done there to be more helpful regarding cost comparisons when you go to other shops. A drunk motorbike driver smashed into the left side of our Honda Jazz, bending the bottom frame and door fairly well. We had other paint chips all the way along, from the front fender, to the back bumper. The job was 12,000 baht, and 5 business days. This all included the frame repair, dent repair, and painting of 7 parts of the car: front fender, front door, door frame, kick, back door, back fender, and bumper. I recall, during their estimate they were calculating painting at 1500 per part. Sorry, no after photos, but it now looks like new, with no flaws as far as I can tell.

^^^ @GS - information is very much appreciated. You, n2 and Mr Spam have pretty much confirmed what I thought - just needed some assurances on prices for painting (no panel beating or parts replacement, just purely respray) before going ahead. Many thanks guys. If I was answering a poll on how happy I am in Thailand right now, I would say "delirious". :) :)

Really never heard about 1500 thb a part for painting, so this might be the best price available in Thailand.

Big shop around bangkok pattaya hospital. Cant miss it. Its on the same side as hospital. On sukumvit.

I had a guy in Hua Yai respray my beater car in different color for 20k, using 2K Dupont color. Took him two months, the result is ok, better than I expected from some one working without a booth. There's some minor orange peel but it's comparable to some factory paint jobs. He even painted the engine bay without me asking for it. Name's Somchai, speaks Thai only, PM for his facebook address. He also does body work and from what I've seen, quite decently.
